...What do y'all think of the behringer V-amp 2?

It'll be going into a laney all-tube single channel amp,because i'm really sick of getting all my distortion from a zoom 707II.

pick up a used yamaha dg-stomp in good condition ... helluva preamp .. the presets are A$$, but once you dial in your own tones, it slays

if all you want is distortion, pick up one for john spina to mod and you'll be in heaven

Yeah,i've heard his DS-1's are great.Can he do anything with ds-2's?Because i have one lying around here that i don't really use.

Used Johnson J-Station also. Killer tone, great effects.

The one caveat though: Since they don't make them anymore, service is spotty. I've never had trouble with either of mine, but some folks have "crashed" theirs. If you can get one for under $100, its a decent deal.

i own a POD xt live, and the sound is pretty amazing but sometimes i think its kind of thin, it also depends which guitar are you using.... but the other day i had a gig, in which a friend borrowed a V-amp2, it didnt sound it bad, but it was amazing for a 100 bucks preamp... if i didnt have what i have now (a gt8, xt live and some stacks) i would buy the v-amp2...

Search the used market for a POD XT. There's so many out there, that you can get one for the price of a new Behringer.

One thing about the POD is its digital sound. Very much covers the capabilities a good guitar don't you think ?
I just gone back to amp stock OD and the guitar is expressed through the celestion
I'm in for the Laney single channel tube amp, I think its a better choice compared to the Behringer

Iv had the V2 and the PODxt, great if you want a bunch of stuff. I find stomp boxes a bit better, more controll.

I've had the V-amp 2 for a few years now, and I also have a Pod XT Live. Overall, the sounds from the v-amp are pretty good. As for value, the Vamp 2 is definitely worth it. It's also very easy to get good sounds. Sometimes I get a headache from twisting knobs and changing menus and whatever on the POD. The V-Amp was good in that aspect.

I went for the V-Amp Pro and am very pleased with the decision. I chose it over the POD 2.0, Johnson J-Station and the behringer V-Amp2.

I just thought it was a better product that was more intuitive, had more options and gave a better sound.

Check these out. It's the Korg Ampworks. For $50 you get a pretty good preamp with some effects too. Some of the other guys here bought them and were pretty happy with it. I thought the the Vox settings were cool. The effects were so-so. Even if you don't use it for a preamp, it's great for practicing through headphones.

I also can't recomend John's stuff enough. He does amazing things with pedals!(I hear he not only spruces them up but he can juggle them and teach them to rollover and beg!
