Burstbucker 61R & 61T. Is there an SD equivalent? ‘59?

Seths are generally the closest to Burstbuckers in my experience. The '61s, though, I believe have mismatched coils with a hotter slug? I'd need to try them to be sure.

the bb '61 r and t are both around 8k with mismatched coils. i dont know if duncan have anything similar. if you took a set of 59's and coil swapped, youd have something similar that would kick ass. i dont love the '61 set though to be honest

seths are sorta similar to the bb1 and bb2, which are great pups

Gotcha. There’s a set in a LP Classic I recently bought. They sound good, but they’re not amazing. I’ll have to play with ‘em some more to see what’s lacking. I might just need to adjust pickup height.

I believe the 61s are just bb1 and bb2 with the overwound coil being the opposite coil from the corresponding Burstbucker.

The coil mismatch is somewhere in the neighborhood of a few hundred turns, so the resistance mismatch is well within the range of factory tolerances.

interesting that i liked the bb1/2 but didnt care for the 61 all that much. could be the guitars with the 61s since ive only played a few

Do the 61 pickups have an A2 magnet like the Burstbuckers? I was under the impression that they were loaded with an A5...:dunno:
