Single Coil Size Humbuckers

I recently put a set of Tex-Mex Fender pickups in my Strat copy, and really want a different sound from the bridge pickup, more like the humbuckers on my Epiphone Dot 335 or my Ibanez RG220. I can't decide between the 59', the JB, or the Cool Rail. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome!

What kind of music do you play?

I would think the Epi had more PAF like humbuckers and the RG hotter.

I would think the Little 59 is closer to the pickups in your Dot. Go with a Cool Rails if you need a cleaner, clearer humbucker sound (sort of like the Jazz humbucker). If you want a full-size humbucker, go with the regular 59.

Thanks for the reply Billie.
I am a beginner and like mostly blues and classic rock.
My Epi has an Alnico Classic Plus Humbucker™ in the bridge that has a lot of nice natural reverb.
My RG has an Ibanez PSND2 (H) humbucker in the bridge and is actually quite mellow and tonal, but with a LOT of output, the pup is 1/4" below the strings, but the 24 fret neck is hard for me to switch to as a beginner...
The bridge pup from the Tex-Mex is a little too harsh for me.

Then I would go lil 59.

Thanks for the reply Mincer, I am currently leaning toward the Cool Rails, will probably wire it like the old Korean HSS Strats with the 500k pot and green .047 cap.

Awesome, let us know how this project turns out!

A pic of the wiring on a 1994 Squier Strat that I intend to use for my kit guitar. Notice the shielded red wire comes from the humbucker.
