Single Humbucker Wiring - Custom Shop 78

Curious if anyone can provide some details on the best way to wire a single humbucker pickup. Before I get a custom pick guard ordered I'm wondering if I should include a tone and volume pot with a push/pull, series parallel, 3-way toggle, etc. I'm not too familiar with the 78 model, so I'm unsure of how it sounds split. I'm also considering the least amount of options to optimize its full power of the pickup if that makes any sense. If you have experience, please share your thoughts! Thank you all!

Put it in a Triple Shot.

Triple shot is basically a mounting ring? I have yet to see these installed on a superstat that necessitates a pick guard covering a large cavity. Anyone achieve that kind of setup. Great comments so far, really appreciate it!

Thanks dazed! Never mind my comment below, didn't notice it has switched on the ring.

Thanks dazed! If all it does is switch things around and the mount is just a mount, I'm thinking it could mount underneath the pick guard around the bucker so you don't see it. Either way this is interesting as I was really unaware of the triple shot. I'm guessing two pots (v/t) would be necessary with this setup. Thanks again

I am like you, in that I don't want a ton of options but only the ones that will work for me. I'd wire it with a tone knob and a push/pull switch- with that, you can decide if you like parallel or split better.

Thanks Mincer, leaning towards that option for sure. Haven't wired push pull yet, used a Super 5 Way which won't be needed for a single bucker. I'm guessing a tone and volume, but which one is used for push/pull? Nevermind, I believe that's the tone pot. Thanks for the tip!
