Single Noise Gate Pedal To Kill BOTH FX Loop AND Amp Noise at a Time

Re: Single Noise Gate Pedal To Kill BOTH FX Loop AND Amp Noise at a Time

In that diagram he should have the NS-2 before the SD-1 and I would put it before the Phase 90 also (at least that's how I'm running mine), you want the input to sense the pure signal from the guitar, not after a distortion/OD box.

I mean saying FX Loop Noise : The Noise originates from any pedal in the FX Loop.

As I understand ISP Decimator G String can kill the noise both FX Loop and the amp in the same time. So, there is no need for buying G String II. Then I'll order it.

Yes, you hook it up the same was as the NS-2, but the ISP is the better unit IMHO (and I use an NS-2).

Is the noise in the form of hum or hiss? Hum could be due to a ground loop if you are not using a isolated power supply. Hiss on the other hand can also be due to mismatched impedance issues. Anyways, i would get a regular decimator pedal for the fx loop first & another one for the guitar down the road if needed, that way it would be more effective in setting things separately such that the noise is reduced & your dynamics aren't affected much. The NS2 has an extra knob to adjust decay, on paper that would seem useful, haven't had it so not sure if its effective.

It's said that ISP Decimators are the best for noise killing.

Regular Decimators don't kill both noise in the same time. You have to use 2 noise killers. One for FX Loop and the other one for the amp. Rather than that I'll go for G String I.

I just started to collect analog pedals. Now I have a crappy transistor amp without FX Loop and two pedals (OD and Wah). I run them with 9V batteries.

Here you can't sell anything so I don't want to make mistake while buying musical equipment.
