thank´s for the recto clips man.
Sorry but i didn´t like the distorted tone of the single recto.. i guess, too much Stuffy .. i preffer the river dragon with the 5150 . more growl and tightness.
the 2nd track is the one with the 808 right!?

dont switch your gear up anymore; it is good as is, just continue to concentrate (maybe more?) on your skillz

Anyway, i like the non TS clip more. Has that mesa sound i really love. Im still thinking about selling my laney and going mesa.. it just has that rythym sound i love.

I updated it all, the drums should sound way better, but I still need to spend more time with it or buy a book or something.

WFD, what do you mean by stuffy? I find this and the 5150 stuff I did very similar, but this is thicker with a bit tighter low end, a tad more clarity, and way different in the mids.


The only gear switching would be additions ;).

Right now, I need to get a set of monitors, and I'd like to get another 5150 to blend tones and whatnot, as well as an axe with a Floyd, but what I really need to concentrate on is mixing.

JEFF!! About bloody time man! Along with others I've definitely been harrassing you about posting some clips, so it's great to hear them.

All of them sound great, and have that signature Recto sound. It's also interesting to note the difference between the Master Plan clips with/without the TubeScreamer. Keep sending us clips :headbang:

Nice bass drum.The only "drum" wich has lots of "reverb" ist actually the snare.And your snare is too "close" to the listener wich makes your drum track sounding unreal.I love the cymbals and bass drum.If you have enough reverb on your snare ,it will feel more organic.
I never loved recto but tone is not to discuss ,more to enjoy.I prefer a Mark IV.

but, updated.. it was sounding that way becuase of the cheap speakers, i just swaped them to my stereo microsystem and the distortion turned out crunchy, tight and great
sorry for the previous comments..but the double bass drums still sound Muffled ahahah get it tighter, and solid.
not muffled. eheheheh

i want to see how it behaves without any ts808 , just the single recto pure distortion.. But you doing some Blastpicking a lá immortal Battles in the north, and alternating with some death thrash riffage a lá the Black Dahlia murder. can it be done? no need for the drum parts. just the Guitars.

I'll do some of that next time, WFD. The Masterplan No TS was just the Mesa's gain, for reference. I don't think it sounds as good.

Since doing all these clips, I've found an even better tone, with more mid quality like a 5150, so I'll get some of those up in a week or so.


Also, remixed the drums, should be sound a LOT better.
