Skid Row experts

Re: Skid Row experts

The story gets better. I got confirmation this morning from Snake himself that both he and Scotti used Duncan JBs in the bridge and Hot Rails in the neck. Mystery solved! Here's another close up pic of my Blackhawk pre-restoration. Blackhawk.jpg

Re: Skid Row experts

That's pretty cool. I thought it was purple at first because it looks purple in the first pic! Interesting switch lay out.

Re: Skid Row experts

Might help to have a Spector to attain that tone, I'm lucky enough to have them handy...

Re: Skid Row experts

The green strat shaped one is a custom Kramer made at Garden State Music center in Tom's River, NJ. it was givin away in a contest in a UK metal mag.

The Gibson shaped LP with the Spector headstock was put together by Rod Schoepfer.

Here is the Kramer

And here is the LP with Joe Perry's Spector as well.

Almost, my LP was Lumpys personal axe, I bought it from Elwood Francis who was Joe Perry's guitar tech at that time. Mine was the only P-90 equipped of the LP bodies

Re: Skid Row experts

The Blue Double Cutaway?

I think it was actually a Spector.

Just watched the video a couple of times. It's a single pickup double cutaway with 3 x 3 headstock. In one see part of the Spector logo on the top of the headstock.

Yep that's the one, dark blue Spector double cutaway held by Dave Sabo in many of the band's early photos. And it has a Floyd Rose.

Re: Skid Row experts

cool ebay find! probably time to invest in a hardshell case if it's as rare & prized as you've said.

doesn't look like it needs much work - the dings and such seem to add character.

Scotti Hill's (Skid Row) Red Guitar

Scotti Hill's (Skid Row) Red Guitar

Hey guys,

I decided to fully restore my Kramer Spector Blackhawk to its former glory, and even had it repainted red to match the elusive guitar I've spent half my life trying to find. Armed with the information that Snake gave me regarding the pickups Hill had in his . . . my quest is over!

Behold!

Kramer Spector Blackhawk
Seymour Duncan JB SH-4 Bridge
Seymour Duncan Hot Rails SHR-1n Neck
Floyd Rose Tremolo

Cranking "monkey business" as I type this - glad I'm not the only one here stuck in the 80's \m/

Re: Skid Row experts

Sweet Blackhawk, the real customs he made for the artists are still around but rarely for sale, I've two of them.

Re: Skid Row experts

Great looking Ride!!!

Fan of the bands music for sure!!! Saw them soooooo many times! First two times were Lakeland, Fl. in September '89 opening for Bon Jovi and then at a headline show at Hammersmith in London, England November '89. Even though he had no idea who he was, I walked up to their manager at the time Doc McGhee, and told him, "Hey I saw you last month in Florida." Then I just walked away with him going, "huh" . :scratchch :dunno:

Re: Skid Row experts

Slave to the grind was all Rivera M100. They discussed this in several guitar mags at the time. They also toured with the M100. Killer amps.

Re: Skid Row experts

Hi everyone.

The guitar tone in the SLAVE TO THE GRIND album is absolutely incredible. The whole album is fantastic. The intro to "Slave to the grind" makes me headbang since the day I bought the tape.

Some of you may not know what an "audiotape" is. Ask your parents.

It's great to see Skid Row fans here!

A morfine injection a letal doooooooooose!
