Slash's Appetite for Destruction Guitar visits Seymour Duncan

Re: Slash's Appetite for Destruction Guitar visits Seymour Duncan

Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting that you guys are correct. I'm just curious if there are tell-tale signs that give it away as a reproduction. My tech showed how the truss rod nut on the fake Chinese jobs is s dead give away. Was wondering if there was something in the pictures that everyone was picking up on that i was missing. But it sound like its more of a general knowledge thing.

No tell tell signs that I know of on that guitar...

Understand we're not talking about a $500 Chinese knockoff that's more wrong that right, guitars like the Derrig replicas and the Max replicas are hand made replica guitars of 50's guitars and are right down to every single detail.

Re: Slash's Appetite for Destruction Guitar visits Seymour Duncan

Although the guitar isn't a Gibson it it FAR from the typical Chinese cheap copy.

For the full info just Google Kris Derrig but to sum up, this guitar was built in the 80s to replicate as authentically as possible the way a "real deal" 1959 Les Paul looked, felt and, most importantly, sounded.

Although replicas, these guitars are NEVER anything even close to cheap. In truth they usually cost many times the cost of a contemporary "real" Les Paul, the highest end of them costing many times the cost of an R9.

Just look at Gil Yaron's guitars...

Well within the parameters of Gibson quality control then!
