Slash's Replacement In Every Way

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

Saw this the other day. Ashba is the sort of dude that's easier on the ears...meaning that he comes off as a bit of a poseur where as Slash is about 1000x more rawk and roll. I dig his playing on a few of the Sixx:AM tunes, but he seems like a far cry from being a replacement for Slash

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

I think that is a pretty cool model. Definitely something different spec-wise. I like the compound radius and a nice sized neck profile.

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

I don't know his playing much at all, but the guitar is pretty cool. Apart from the little insignia and the reversed truss cover I would rock it hard!

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

It must be hard to be a guy who thinks of signature guitars for Gibson... straddling the line between what's popular and mainstream and what guitar players will actually buy.

I wonder what his ratio is like.

Just want to stick my nose into the whole artist thing , here is my friends sig gib

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

If Slash got so famous playing the way he does, his PR people must be doing the best of jobs! ;)

Naahh, don't mind me; I'm just a grumpy old man...

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

Ashba is a good guy and competent player; no need to bash via comparison to Slash. The real question: Does the world need another signature guitar?

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

Its not a matter of needing another signature model - The real question is...

Will it sell?

Re: Slash's Replacement In Every Way

I like it, but wouldn't buy it. An Epiphone version would be nice
