Slash's sound with Alnico II pros questions

Re: Slash's sound with Alnico II pros questions

it appears nero no longer gives a proverbial but FWIW i find the '59n with A2 more slash-esque than the A2Pn

i have since accepted that i simply don't sound like slash, whatever i use.

Re: Slash's sound with Alnico II pros questions

Well for what I do I use Skinny Top Heavy Bottoms. 9's were a cake walk, broke, and would over bend. 11s were too much for me. 10s were nice but I liked the lower strings on the 11s and more so on 12s so I got what I got. I don't want to battle with my guitar I want it fluid but not too easy to play while still having thicker lower strings for rhythms so that works for me sorry I'm not as manly as you appear to be..

I use suspension bridge cable for the bass strings and guy-wire for the treble. No problem with 2 1/2 step bends, either.

Re: Slash's sound with Alnico II pros questions

how do you find the tone on that bridge cable?

Re: Slash's sound with Alnico II pros questions

No matter what you do getting your guys favorite pickups and electronics never nails the tone exactly its about the whole setup and mostly the amp.

.

MOST of the time i will have to agree w you 101%, but a few months ago, i saw a Utoob clip, of a guy playing some GN'R song with A2P's (forgot what guitar he used - probably an LP), and a Randall SS amp, and he nailed Slash's tone to about 99.5%.
In a band context, NO ONE would have heard any diff.
I'll see if i can find the clip again !
