Slim Acoustic help

Hello, I am looking for a good (not to expensive) slimmer acoustic due to my extremely short upper body.

I had these 2 guitars in mind the stratacoustic and a Beaver Creek travel size 12 string acoustic. I am open to suggestions.

I here the strat has an extremely high action Due to bad set up at shop. But the price shows it will need some sort of adjustment

The Beaver Creek, I haven't read anything online there fairly cheap also but I have never played a 12 string so I don't know how that would pan out.

I'm going to try and throw the link of the beaver creek in a post below, not working here.

Re: Slim Acoustic help

When you say slimmer do you mean body depth ( a Dreadnought is about 4" deep) or is it the width of the body? A size "D" acoustic is a pretty big guitar, maybe consider an OM or tripl "O" size. They are both not as deep and a smaller body width.

Re: Slim Acoustic help

The Ibanez Talman? I'm assuming it sounds about as good as any other thin-bodied guitar. Can't forget the Ovations either.

What do you want to DO with this guitar?

I LOVE the Ovation slim - but as an "Acoustic" it is crappy sounding. Very comfy neck, great action, and nice to play for a while standing, however! Which is what I do with it. For tone, I run it through a crap-ton of processing/modelling. At which point it sounds awesome...

While I admit they don't sound nearly as nice as most decent full body guitars, in my experience when you lump them in with other small and/or shallow body guitars they really shine.

They definitely sound 100x better then those POS stratacoustic's.

Also A big part of getting them to sound right in my opinion is the right strings. I really prefer 80/20's on mine as they're naturally on the bright side of the guitar spectrum. Another thing is that with the piezo I've found out that using heavier strings makes a huge difference in the plugged in sound. Mine sounded like crap with extra light strings. Going up to standard 12 gauge made it sound much much better.

I personally use Elixr Polywebs

Re: Slim Acoustic help

I mean thin... like I can't reach something there for it being to tall it needs to be thinner, I cannot reach the front of a full size acoustic due to how large it is in thickness

Re: Slim Acoustic help

I have an Ibanez EP5 with a Fishman system that sounds and plays great. Very fast neck with a great action and nice upper fret access. It is a very slim guitar.

The ibanez talman, the skinniest ovations and that Washburn I vaguely mentioned are about 3.5n thick or less. The ovations arent box shaped in back, they have a contoured plastic back.
