Re: Snagged a Strymon Lex rotary pedal
I picked the pedal up this afternoon, after waiting for it's release date at GC.
I took it down to my rehearsal studio and put on some Beatles songs through the PA, so I could play along with a guitar/B3/Leslie sound. Just a fantastic sound! My favorite feature is the slow/fast button, which changes the speed as naturally as a real Leslie.
If you hold that button it stalls the warble too. Then let go and it transitions back to slow or fast.
I also let another guitarist play through it and now he's jonesing for one. I can't wait to let my B3 artist friend, Mike Mangan, play it through the custom FX loop in his old B3.
He's gonna trip when he hears it, and his ears are tuned to his Leslie 147 (size of a washing machine). I'm going to have him put tape markers on the settings, so I can see how they compare to where I've got it set.
Overall, I scored a great one. This is a lifetime keeper pedal. It's one of the best modulation sounds I've come across for a guitar.
I played it in stereo with the Bogner XTC clean channel and Matchless Chieftain, my main big rig, along with my Surfer loaded strat, and it engulfed the room just like a big loud Leslie 147. The swirl was so nice it almost gave me vertigo. LOL
