Snarling Dogs

Re: Snarling Dogs

I played one of them (not sure which, one of the wahs) at GC, and it was WAY more vintagey than I was expecting.

Re: Snarling Dogs

Anyone else? I do eventually want to get another wah, and these go pretty cheap sometimes.

I've always wanted to try the "Very Tone Dog," as well.

Re: Snarling Dogs

I tried the Blues Brawls. I didn't like the sweep range(Very limited) The distortion part sounded good ,But very hard to switch on and off. IMO stick with the more traditional wahs like Dunlop and Vox.

Re: Snarling Dogs

I've been curious about the wah's for a while as well, just haven't tried one...Jeff Beck uses one these days and gets a killer tone with it but he is Jeff Beck...

Re: Snarling Dogs

Why would I want to be traditional?:chairfall

A teenager at church has an Ibanez Wah that sounds pretty good. IDK the model, but it has an on/off switch ON THE SIDE instead of having to stomp down on the sweep pedal.:cool3:

Edit: He has the Ibanez WD7 Weeping Demon Wah

I've got a new hardwired TB Whine-O-Wah, and it kicks all sorts of ass! The sweep is V E R Y wide....it can go from Electric Funeral to White Room. The tone is very smooth and sweet....not harsh and honky like most other wahs on the market.

Re: Snarling Dogs

I had a Superbawl Fireball wah for about a year, the one with dual inductors. Sounded absolutely amazing, but everything on it broke really quickly. The jacks crapped out, the switches, all of the cheap chinese plastic pars that were PCB mounted just failed miserably to thier job. Its still here, i might get around to fixing it up one day.

Re: Snarling Dogs

I own a Very-Tone Dog. I bought it for $25. My advice is don't waste your time on one.

Re: Snarling Dogs

Interesting. When it came out, I read two glowing reviews of it, and I've always wanted to try one. Thanks for the warning. Glad I didn't blow the $$$.

Re: Snarling Dogs

When I first started playing guitar I was going to buy one of those. I got a cry baby instead, then the crybaby with all of the option (the one dimebag's sig was modeled after) I hated them both.

Re: Snarling Dogs

i had the Super Whine-o-Wah. it sounded great in all 3 modes and had a cool pre amp boost to cut through when using it. Unfortunately, the build quality wasn't the greatest and it ened up dying about 6 months later.

Re: Snarling Dogs

I had their Bawlsbuster Bass Wah pedal for awhile. I loved it. It surprised the hell outta me. It just didn't last longer than 2 years so I sold it cheap to an electrical engineer who fixed it, now he loves it. I would definitely buy any of their products.

I've heard good things about their guitar wahs.
