It looks cool....kinda like a tube mic pre module. I'm kinda confused about Mic 1-2-3-4. Did they change the design midway, because there's two blank holes in the back that look like they would have been mic 2 & 3?
It looks like the project started out to be a mic pre, and ended up being a guitar preamp? What's it sound like?

You're partially right...They (Voodoo) have done lots of mods to old tube PA units over the years and this is another one. Like before the production Hex and Witchdoctor amps came out, they would install the circuit into old pa amps like Bogen Challengers. I had one of those but traded it...I wanna get a production version though
I haven't had a chance to turn it up past bedroom levels yet, but it sounds really cool and thick. The structure switch basically brings in more gain stages and you can go from plexi style cleans/crunch to modern metal craziness (from 1-5)

I too, am curious of how your new toy sounds.
EDIT: You answered before I could finish posting. Sounds very cool. It would be fun to just grab some old, worn out piece of electronic equipment and turn it into something like that.

The CP? It's a prototype of the CP circuit that Voodoo Amps designed. This one was Trace's personal prototype preamp and is a bit different than the production version that will soon be available. Here's some more info:
