So How Do U Match Speakers To Amps?

I'm not real skilled so please explain this. I always assumed that you get a speaker that's similar to the stock but has more of the characteristics u want. So if I got a dark amp with huge low end I wud choose a speaker with less low end and a little brighter but not too much of anything or it would be mismatched. So far it works out good this way! I really don't know the right method!

Man it is a free country and forum...I was just giving you a hard time.

Know it alls usually dont know as much as they think anyways and are usually about 80% opinion! To answer your question about speakers.....

well I haven't done enough speaker swappin' in my days to really have an approach. I just ask a question or research the forums.

trial and error at first. then just like anything else you learn what to expect from certain types of speakers, but nothing beats real world listing experience. if you become familiar with a certain speaker you can use that speaker as a common factor to see what an amp sounds like then make you choice based on that. i have enough speakers and cabs that i can swap an amp around till i find what works best of what i currently have then go from there. sometimes you have to take a chance, like on the celestion gold. looked great on paper but wasnt what i was looking for once i tried it

Dang! It does sound like the perfect speaker. The price would indicate that it is too!
