So.. how's my tone?

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I like it.

Only thing I might give of advice, is that you should fatten your lead sound up a little bit, its a bit too gritty for my taste.

Good job bro :)

Re: So.. how's my tone?

That's my problem with my 'zomfg awsome rhythm tone' setting. However, I think it worked pretty well here, with the.. 'look at me, Peter Green' I'm not thing going on.

Thanks alot for the compliment though, it means alot. :)

Re: So.. how's my tone?

Hehe mate you are way beyond my playing.

Did you use the neck pickup for everything on it?

It sounds nice and sweet with a bit of edge to it.

:)

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I used the middle position on my Les Paul for the entire track, which explains the edge on it.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I personally like the tone as it is and the playing reminds me Clapton (always in good way). I also started from the blues and I like them a lot. Keep it going...:fing2:

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I liked it a lot man. I think your tone is great for what you're playing. As said above your tone reminds me of early clapton. What are you using to record?

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I don't know a damn thing about the genre, but it sounds good to me! I'd like to hear a version with the lead line on the neck pup.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

i like it. reminds me of kicking back on the porch, in summer, yeah. i like it.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

Wow.. thanks everyone.

For recording.. all I used was a crappy Logitech directional mic (I have to position it very carefully otherwise it misses alot of the sound)

Gear wise.. a Traynor blue, but not mine. One I borrowed while mine was getting repaired.. it had a big red speaker in the back and I remember it not sounding as alive as my amp..

Epiphone Les Paul with Custom 5 in brige, 59 in neck, though it was in middle position.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

i dug it man...it'd definitely got that ol' skool vibe to it!!!

Re: So.. how's my tone?

Timmy,

your tone is good.

Your mike isn't a proper recording mike so it makes your tone sound thinner than what it probably sounds to you in the room.

I love the bluesy licks. Keep it up! :)

Re: So.. how's my tone?

Too short :laugh2: . I was just starting to groove when it ended. I love the style you used and the tone imo was great. Clean, but dirty/gritty and very audible. I definitely visualized being on a dirt road on a hot lazy day with a bag slung over my shoulder, lol.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

Wow again.. I didn't expect this kind of response.

Just.. thank you everyone, it means alot to me.

Re: So.. how's my tone?

I agree with 75lespaul. Sounds great but you need to do a longer recording. I likethe tone and like MarinBlues said it probably sounds a lot fatter in person. I like it.

To be honest I didn't think you played this kind of music. Not to say it's bad I just had a different idea of what you would sound like.
