So I got one of those there Wylde Phase pedals...

It was a Black Friday deal at Sam Ash. They were sold out when I called them, but I got Musician's Friend to match. They were sold out too, but they shipped one from their next delivery.

I wasn't looking for much from a $40 pedal. I was hoping it performed a little better than the Phase 90 that a forum bro had loaned me a while back, and I have been pleasantly surprised. That old Phase 90 had a bit of a mid push that distorted the cleans, and that's how I wanted to use it. On cleans. Push the mids, and my cleans aren't so clean anymore. I hear a slight mid scoop in the pedal that allows things to work with a Marshall-style amp, and it sounds pretty great.

The layout is 100% Phase 90, in case you're not familiar with the pedal. Single control knob, power LED, AC adaptor slot, and input and output. Doesn't get much simpler. I really like the bit of a swoosh I get with the knob at about 10 o'clock. Anything above that, and the subtlety is gone. It does a slightly improved Phase 90 tone, and that's about it. But I don't think many people would ask for much more.

Anyways, it's worth a look if you're in the market for a phaser. Sam Ash is liquidating them now for about $50.

I picked one up myself at Christmas and I'm glad I did, works really well with my dark terror for the tones I wanted out of it....

I got one, and the AC plug didn't work. I sent it in to Dunlop, and they sent me a new one. I liked it all the way up until I got my Sovtek Small Stone. I like having the color toggle.
