I disagree I have a Squire Affinity Strat the body has good resonation the guitar plays quite well for the price its a good axe. My buddy plays in a band he picked it up and said to me that guitar plays well I said to him I told you so. There was a guy on another guitar forum who gigs with this model. The quality is good and I consider it one of the best buys for the money.

I had one too 2nd hand, paid 70 euro, I bought it to make some experiment, I wanted to see how much work was needed to make it playing good. And, ergh... not the best guitar I had.
The neck was stiff, the frets undressed, the pickups... no, please, let's not talk about the pickups. The body didn't resonate. At some point I decided to scrap the paint off (it was thick, really thick, almost 0,8 mm) to bare wood to find out it's actually plywood...
In the end it was interesting. it is now in the hands of a friend on mine's daughter, she's learning to play.

The drawback to that plan, besides the obvious, is that if you or the band have an off night (as everyone does now and then), you'll look pretty stupid. But if it's shock value and dramatic contrast you're going for, why not complete the look with a tutu and tights and throw down like that?

And unlike many of you who can't go on stage with a Fralin Pickup in an R9 through a Strymon pedal….(not that anyone in the crowd knows or cares)

I can play anything with six strings that is in tune through a Boss pedal and sound decent.

hey ace you could also install a stetsbar with a brass tune-o-matic, titanium saddles, a graphtech nut and some locking tuners in there, a white slug and tune it to C and play some Venom on it, it would be so awesome to play the seven gates of hell on a HK strat!
