I know it's already been mentioned but the valvetronix is probably your best bet. I'd like to try those micro cubes, I've heard nothing but good things. I'm going to be in the same boat as well, and I'm considering one of those two. Best of luck to you!

Yeah. Its either the VOX AD50VT (new) or a used Roland Jazz Chorus. Ive heard that both are LOUD before any distortion occurs.
