I don't have a camera, but I've just played both, I need some more experience with them, before I can go fully into details though, and that'll have to wait until I'm home alone, because these beasts are loud.

Re: So, I'm receiving my cab soon, and..

I started with the Marshall, I had it on half (25) watts, at first I couldn't really hear much, until I realized you have to turn this sucker up to 3 before it gets reasonably loud. I had to get used to the volume first and haven't played that much around with the settings. I played some of The Darkness' "Growing on me", VERY good hard rock crunch, and definately capable of metal if you turn the gain up higher. The cleans are pretty gritty and 'overdriven' or what should I say, unless you turn the volume on your guitar down or turn the gain down. It has two "channels" sharing the same EQ so you can't just use a more clean sound on your other "channel", the only thing you can change is the volume of that "channel", but not the EQ itself, so if you use alot of gain you have to turn down your guitar volume to get reasonably cleans. Unfortunaly there's a little "pop" sound when I change "channels", but other than that, it sounds really good, great marshall crunch.

The Laney I plugged into afterwards, and what surprised me the most is that it didn't seem THAT much louder than the Marshall, and I was even able to put this thing on 5 without losing my hearing :laugh2: But OMG what bass..people say this thing is bright, I didn't really hear that..God, this thing has bass, with the master volume on 5 and the bass on 5, I was knocking down things from the shelves, literally. And if I turned the bass switch on, and the resonance switch on, it was even crazier. The thing that very much surprised me, especially about the Laney was the pure PUNCH of the sound, really good dynamics, everything rattled..If I picked hard I would get unbelieveable punch from the speakers, if I picked soft it was alot quieter. And what also surprised me was it's ability to get clean sounds, even with the gain on 7. It was VERY different from the Marshall where the cleans seemed very overdriven, but this thing was just..clean sounding. One thing that might have to do with the Laney seeming less loud than the Marshall, and the cleans being more clean, might have to do with that I plugged into the low input, because it didn't seem to have that much gain compared to the Marshall, it seemed alot more vintage or something..I don't know. Next time I'll try plugging into the hi input, because people say this amp is like a hotrodded Marshall and that isn't what I heard through the low input.

This tuesday I'll get early off from school, and tomorrow I'll buy some earplugs so I'll be ready to test it some more, but I want to do it after I've gotten early off so I'm alone.

So, my conclusion: after playing each amp for maybe 20 minutes or something, I'm pretty impressed by both amps and the sound of the cab, I'll have to go much more into detail though, before I know the amps, one thing is for sure though: loud ;)

Re: So, I'm receiving my cab soon, and..

By the way, after you've played such tube amps, cheap solidstate amps will seem even more poop-sounding than before, they do simply not have the dynamics or punch of a big tube amp.

The bass really surprised me since I've heard people say that V30's are really bright and lacking bass and stuff, and Laney's too..But this is only through a 2x12, I can't even imagine what the punch of a 4x12 would be like.
