Lol, it's still in triple digits during the day. But at least the dew point has started to drop.

Getting down to 64 tonight. I'll have to open some windows in the morning. Actually, it cooled off a bit during the day today. When I stepped outside around 6:15 or so it felt like low-mid 80s and there was a breeze.

Sitting out on the back porch as we speak. Fall is here.

Done. Tru-Oil on everything, all the holes were drilled using hand tools so they aren't perfect, but the neck is straight and the guitar is intonated properly, so I did okay I think. :D

Calig Neodymium pickups have lots of punch.

I like the hardtail bridge and the new jack location, but it was a lot of work to do that and you can see where all the holes were filled. I'm going to try something different on a King V I'm working on now.

Neck joint looks a little weird but I love the body!

I wonder how it would have gone if you used the original string thru holes but with a top mount rear string loading bridge? i guess the strings could potentially bind entering the rear holes.

That could be the angle of the picture, or the amount of paint I removed. This is the Rhoads that was originally blue with red underneath. I also had to remove veneers from both bodies, front and back. :)

The original holes are in a V shape, and that would throw the scale length WAY off. :D

Ummm no man, the saddles provide that.Don't be silly.

That's a lot of space for the saddles to adjust. The only way I can see that working is if I mounted a hardtail bridge that was meant for putting the strings through the back of the bridge (rather than the bottom). Was that what you were talking about?

Yeah a top loading bridge.

Gotcha. Either way I still have to plug the tune-o-matic posts. They're *mostly* covered, but one of the things I was aiming for was to have a smoother bridge with rounded edges/saddles for palm muting, along with a flatter neck angle. I found some roller tune-o-matic bridges that work pretty well, so what I'm doing on the next one is to drill the bridge post holes out a hair and sit the bridge flat on the body. Comparing both bridges, the roller tune-o-matic's saddles sit a hair *lower* than the hardtail strat style bridge. Win-freaking-win.
