So Monoprice is doing guitars now

I wouldn't consider one of these for myself but I am asked all the time for advice on beginner guitars. I am wondering what the quality is like on these. They look nice and the only negative comment in the reviews was immediately answered by Monoprice. Monoprice responded the buyer might have got a lemon and offered to replace it.

I say go with a Squier Strat Standard used from GC. You can pick those things up for $99, and they're perfect for a beginner's guitar.

I checked out a couple at the Monoprice store in SoCal. They're about what you'd expect at that price.

Re: So Monoprice is doing guitars now

That looks about like my first guitar, early 80's Hondo LP copy. It LOOKS like a Paul, but it won't SOUND like a Paul (basswood/alder/plywood body, bolt on maple neck, cheap electronics) but for a beginner it'll probably be fine. If it doesn't fall apart like mine did

Re: So Monoprice is doing guitars now

I've seen those too. Still would shoot for a Rondo over these, but the LP ones have a decent headstock.

off u see did MRSAge, I m on tapa talk and auto correct is hating on me
