well since i hang out with bludave every Sat he keeps saying i need an acoustic, and i keep telling him "what on earth am i going to do with it" hahaha (i'm a high gain junky) anyway i started giving in a bit and realized i may need one and it can't hurt to have one so i started looking at some websites and then i found this MONSTER hehe. i guess it's an acoustic...well, it looks kinda like one on steroids lol...either way it sure is cool looking IMO with an aluminum swirl top and a bigsby on it with a single sized mini hum dimarzio...it's very tempting but still i don't think it 100% fills in my lack of an acoustic void that Dave seems to think i have hehehe (or perhaps it does since i don't "need" a "real" acoustic to begin with). either way i am going to try and track one down and play it b/c it's too cool looking to not give it a try.

has anyone ever tried one acoustic or through an amp by chance that can give a review?

here's the Monster Martin hehe

yikes that's scary. I don't know what the hell to think.

I played the same one except it was like a standard cutaway acoustic, no bigsby, tune o matic, magnetic pickup, etc. It sounded and played pretty good for what it was. Definately not like a regular acoustic though.

:'(

I honestly have no idea what that'd sound like.. Bright is about the only thing I can think of, but I'm probably wrong :laugh2:

Re: so "sinful" to some yet so cool looking IMO...

Bright, twangy, and jangly?? Probally has BITE!!!

Re: so "sinful" to some yet so cool looking IMO...

actually both of you are wrong. It was very dark sounding, not sparkly or bright at all. Very bassy and middy. It didn't shimmer like an acoustic would. It's hard to explain. It's very rigid, the back and sides are graphite if I remember correctly then it has that metal top.

Re: so "sinful" to some yet so cool looking IMO...

get both. buy that one and a normal acoustic. that solves your problem, and you get to buy 2 guitars. (as if anyone on this board requires peer pressure to buy unneeded guitars)

besides, chicks dig acoustics, hence the reason why mine is displayed in a place of honor by my guitar collection in my college apartment
<---- look left

I've played the regular acoustic version. Yeah, it's aluminum, so it's warm and chock full 'o bass. No shrillness to be found. That top would still vibrate and feedback like a mother if you put it under gain.

warm and full of bass??? that's what i like to hear, i like a nice thick/round/warm sound this may be perfect then...i gotta see if i can find one at a local shop.

I played one a while ago, I really can't give you a review because I only played it for like 30 seconds just because it looked cool. Very different, but not to be used to acheive regular acoustic sounds! That thing would be bad ass for slide I'm guesin!
