So today at the guitar shop I played...

A guitar that has been there for a while and I picked it up once or twice before but never really paid attention...well today I really played it for a while and it is NOT helping my G.A.S. at all!

An Epiphone ES-295 (just like Scotty Moore)....

Man what a great axe...obviously it needed a little setup to be to my playing specifications and I'd put flatwounds on it, but it was just a fun guitar to play, plenty of great tones and the bigsby even worked well! held tune and gave me that great smooth vibrato. They want $800 for it....ah well, I won't have that kind of cash anytime soon, but it was fun to play.

Anyone else played one of these?

I've never seen one, but that's a beautiful looking guitar. How did those P90's sound? I despise regular Epiphone single coils, but I wonder if these are any better.

i haven't played one of those either...but it definitely looks like a nasty rocker!!!

i'd prefer a gretsch, but those are pretty cool

plus i'm a huge scotty moore fan

yeah, I'm thinking if I can talk him down, it might be something worth saving for..and throw in some seymour duncan p90's...got a serious rockabilly machine :)

dean makes a model very simular to that one that i have played on many occasions and it was a terrific blues/rockabily guitar
