So what is your favorite Neck humbucker pickup?

Re: So what is your favorite Neck humbucker pickup?

Either 59n or screaming demon. Both can go from blues to high gain.

Personally - the 79 T-Top in my #1. But that pup is just special, can't just go buy one. (Jerry, didn't know you felt that way...)

General recommendation - PG all the way every time for the LP.

Antiquity II mini-hum (adjustable polepieces). Just got it a couple of weeks ago and it's the best I've ever tried.

Jazz Bridge and Neck Models, Pearly Gates neck, Seth Lover, and Gibson 57 Classic.

The EMG 85 or DiMarzio D Activator Neck model (which I have in now), easily. They do exzactly what I wish from a neck pickup and have the exact tone as well. Bluesy and handles high gain easily.

I wish I could find a bridge model that I could feel the same way about.

Cool Rails!!

ok so that's cheating a bit since it's a hum yet the size of a single....but it is my favorite.

for full size hums i like the Jazz and PG.

I'm getting ready to try a Jazz neck again for the 1st time in years... :)

I hate to be traitorous... but at the moment it's the Super 58 Custom stock in the neck of my ibanez. I've never liked a neck humbucker before until I tried this.

Re: So what is your favorite Neck humbucker pickup?

There are several humbucking neck pickups that I like. It would be very hard for me to choose "best".

I like the Antiquity set that I have in one of my Les Paul 1960 Classic Premium Plus guitars; and the Musician's Friend 50th Anniversary A2 Seth Lover set in my other LPCPP. I have standard Seths in another Les Paul, but I like the Antiquity and the 50th Anniv. Seth better, I think. They are a little warmer, and hotter.

I really like '57 Classics--I have these in three guitars.

I have Ibanez guitars with the Super 58, and it's good--and I also like the IBZ Infinity neck pickups I have in my GR-520 Ghostriders.

For single coils, the Texas Hot Antiquity may just be the best Strat neck pickup I've ever heard.

Pearly Gates, though I haven't played a whole lotta different buckers, it's just got THE tone, warm, articulate, great cleans, bluesy tones, and shreddy tones. What else can a man want? From a neck pickup, that is..

The Jazz was the first to really open my eyes to how usable the neck pos HB could be (in an SG), but I also really like the 59n in my Hamer. Sounds great in its own right, and matches the C5b perfectly!

Jazz Model Neck or a Jazz Model Bridge in the neck position.

I like the Pearly Gates alot as well.

That Jazz in bridge was sweet sounding, but for my money I have either a '59 or a LIL59 in my neck position:friday:
