I have an old Morley Pro that keeps being dumb. I need to replace it.

What do the cool kids use for volume pedals in these parts?

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

I just picked up a Visual Sound Visual Volume 10th Anniversary model cheap on eBay I like a lot.
Cool LEDs, stereo and an adjustable boost.
Nice.

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

That Ernie Ball VP Jr. volume pedal has a 250K volume pot. We spend a lot of time here debating 250K vs. 500K volume pots. So what effect does a Ernie Ball with a 250K pot have on the tone of a humbucker? Does it make it sound like it's lost some highs that we'd rather not lose?

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

Can't you just fix it? A volume pedal is about as simple as it gets.

It's exactly the same as having a 250k volume control on a guitar.

It's very easy to replace the pot on an Ernie Ball volume pedal if you care about that sort of thing.

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

IIRC Morley is an optical volume. I think they use an led (???) to control the levels.
Got the Little Aligator, too.
Don't like the sweep as much as the VV.
"Steves taper" seem too abrupt in comparison.
I'm hoping I can adjust it.

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

Dunlop. It's a passive volume pedal. No power needed.

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

Same with the Ernie Ball.

I didn't know that. I've been a Dunlop fan for forever though. Every set of EB strings have broken in like a week. Even the Titanium Coated ones. So I'm a little weary of a Ernie Ball pedal. My brother swears by his EB Wah, but I haven't tried it out yet. Maybe when his birthday rolls by.

If you get an EB volume, make sure it's the one for the electronics that you have, they make a version for passive and active pickups.

Re: so what's a good volume pedal?

I have a Dunlop. Looks just like a Wah. I don't use it it's just sitting in my closet. I don't have room for it on my board!
