So, yeah.

Re: So, yeah.

Actually, the cheap Squire neck I have on my homebrew Start is about the most comfortable size for fender regardless of price for me.I got it with a really great true 6100 Jumbo re- fret job, and it plays wonderfully.
Warmoth, I like Boatneck. Warmoth 'Fat' profile is a bit to large for my stubby paws, and 59 is a bit too too small. The Fat Warmoth profile does work well with the new style trussrod though.
I need a thicker neck. I was having issues with the thinner necks actually catching fire cause of the blazing shred licks I do.

I'm not a fan of Ibby necks either. I like the Warmoth 59 roundback profile the best which I believe is based on the Gibson 50's neck profiles.

Re: So, yeah.

I definitely wanted to love Ibanez guitars, but I can't handle their necks. I've had several prestiges, an Iceman, some RGs, SA series, Gios, etc. I've found that a C-Shape neck is what I prefer, a little thinner and thicker is ok, but the Ibanez necks feel too thin. I also don't like the flat radii like 16" that is on a lot of Ibanez guitars (my preference is 9.5.) So I hear ya on the Ibby neck thing.

Re: So, yeah.

I don't play my rg520 much anymore because of the neck. I much prefer their premium wizard (bigger and meatier) and wizard 3 (nice smaller c shape).

Outside of that, the warmth 59 is sweet.

Re: So, yeah.

If it's fretboard radius that bothers you, don't the Satriani necks have a 10" radius?

Re: So, yeah.

I like my Wizard II necks on my Ibbys
but I also like the standard C shape of my MIM
the 9.5 radius of my MIM is comfortable
but awkward for my playing style

until i got it last year
most of my playing had been on 12 inch radius - C shaped Squires

then the Ibbys
they they took some time to get used to
but they are by far my favorite

soon I plan to try out a thin compound neck from Warmoth
that should be the best of both worlds
