The only way to go on a Martin Dread! What really surprised me was how responsive to fingerstyle/fingerpicking it is, with the forward shifted scalloped bracing and 13 gauge strings. All that tension helps the top really move. Multiple people (non guitarists, some non musicians, wife included) have told me how good the guitar sounds. That says a lot. How are you liking the neck shape?
I'm a sucker for soft V neck. When I built my Tele, I used the soft V clapton profile. I find it very comfortable. Plus for me, it makes it easier to form barre chords 5th - 10th frets.
I've thinned the herd before but my Martin isn't ever going anywhere. Bought it with funds from my Uncle's estate when he passed back in 2003. My D-28 is 10 years-old now and sounds amazing. They really open up with age.
