I could really get into that if it weren't for the lower cutaway...and it probably works for upper fret access, but in the end it just doesn't work for me looks wise. It ends up like a guitar shaped after an amoeba.

...and how you're supposed to adjust the volume or tone on the fly I've no idea.

Probably. EMG's are basically mini humbuckers inside a full-size humbucker casing.
