Somewhat less simple quesion...Anyone remember the...

Let it B
Peavey Bravo amp?

Low wattage tube combo...late 80s...early 90s maybe.

It universally seems to get great reviews as a sleeper in Peaveys history and a lot of "WTF?..why did Peavey stop making this amp?" type of comments

Anyone here own one now or previously?

Re: Somewhat less simple quesion...Anyone remember the...

I played one once, tried it with the original speaker first and hated it, sounded like a cheap solid state amp. Then I tried it with an external 1x12 with a celestion and it sounded great. Only tried the distortion channel and the ultra boost switch made the sound buzzy. Anyway, huge difference with a different speaker.

Thanks for the input :bigthumb:

Thankfully I would be dealing with an upgraded speaker(the stock speaker seems to be the only real weak point people mention).

Use an external cab if you can, since the bravo's cab is built very poorly so you'd get better results with an external cab than with the bravo's cab with a different speaker. I've also read in reviews that swapping the tubes will do wonders for the tone so you might want to consider that as well.
