Frito's Better Half
alright, this is something that's been stuck in my head for a long while. It's not the kind of music I usually write (more of a bluesy folk) and I've only gotten one verse. Please feel free add in. I dont know the name of the chords. So when you see D, it's actually D without the middle finger on the e string. When you see C9, it's actually C9 with the e string open and the D string silent. When you see C9/B, it's actually C9 with instead of the 3'rd fret on the A string, it's the second, but the e is still open and the D is still silent.

D C9 C9/B D
Running away to--- night
Never said goo-----dbye
Sorry for the things I-----'ve done
but now it's ti-----me to run

I dont know if you guys are gonna catch any of this or not. Feel free to write another verse, chorus, bridge, intro, outro, whatever.

BTW: this is capo'd at the 2nd fret.

Re: songwriting help

Hm..try to tab it. For example:

e:--3
h:--3
g:--4
d:--5
a:--5
e:--3

for a g-major. I could barely imagine the problem..it´s 100% my fault :D
And a little bump.

Re: songwriting help

D

e--0
b--3
g--2
d--0
a--0
e--x

C9

e--0
b--3
g--0
d--x
a--3
e--x

C9/B

e--0
b--3
g--0
d--x
a--2
e--x

alright, those are the chords.

Re: songwriting help

No ideas for your lyrics...

But your D - I would call it Dsus2

and the C9/B - since there isn't a C in it, I think I would go with either G6/B ie Em7/B

Re: songwriting help

I like the lyrics!

Hm..I would say that the D could also be a D9 and the other chords look ok for me^^

Great chords..looking foward to the whole song.

Mike, you're a friggin genious!!!
granted i don't have a guitar in front of me...but i kinda guessed at the notes and the tempo of the song...gotta admit...i was "feeling" it bro...i think it will be good...you should be able to finish it up from there!?

didn't really have a chord progression in mind for the little chorus...but i know you'll figure it out?!

maybe break into a mix of G Em and C...?

Re: songwriting help

You guys rock. I've had this one little verse in my head forever, and I never could get something out of it. Now I've got that out of the way, I can sleep easy at night.

Re: songwriting help

i'm liking a little break into something with Am, C/F, D/G, and something else i guess
