Spankin' with a Cool Rails

. . . not really spankin' per se . . . I gotta long way to go yet. :laugh2:

But having fun with this new Cool Rails in the bridge of my Strat-a-clone.
This thing is so clean and spanky. I love it.

Its my usual . . . simple chord progression with the drum machine keeping time.
#4 notch position, (CR and middle EMG), panned a bit left, straight CR panned a bit right. Playing mostly the same thing.

Might make a simple forum jam. Lay down a lead if you feel like it.
Hope you like it. :)

Love the clean sound. What kind of amp/processing is it going through?

Re: Spankin' with a Cool Rails

Thanks guys. I run the guitar straight into a DBX 163x compressor, but I have the compression turned to minimum. I use it as a buffer to split the signal and match it to the next stage, which is a Johnson J-Station, and Yamaha FX-500. The J-Station is set to the "Black Face" emulation with all effects turned off. I have the Yamaha set for just a smidgen of chorus, reverb, and delay. Not much, just a touch. Both of those units are stereo, so all four inputs come into a Tascam mixer, which feeds my soundcard.

The "trick" to keeping it clean is, I only mix in a bit of the Yamaha. The "J" is full strength, but I bring in just enough of the Yamaha to give it a bit of ambiance, and to help take away the "digital" character.

I think it works pretty good. :)

Great..has lot of mojo because of this cool tone and interessting chords.

:)

Perhaps I could play some piano over it...this cool track just forces me to do that. :laugh2:
