So I've just finished building a secondary "Parts Guard" for my Stratocaster. As you can see from the picture above I normally keep it set up with a sorta Fat Strat guard made up of a Duncan TB-11 Custom/Custom in the bridge & some Fralin Vintage Split Coils in the neck and middle slots. It sounds great this way but every once in a while I do miss having 3 real singles...

I had a stock Strat harness (I'll probably upgrade the capacitor on it before installation?) & a left over SSL-3 just sitting in a box. The Texas Special's in neck & middle slots were left over from the original stock Fat Strat guard that the guitar came with when I bought it. I figured since I had all the stuff to do it & some free time this afternoon I might as well solder it all up! At the very least I guess I've consolidated some of my bits & pieces, but my hope is that it's going to be a pretty great assembled guard in the end as well!!!
Please forgive my ignorance in this department.. I've actually never mixed Fender & Duncan pickups together in the same guard before. I've literally built hundreds of Stratocaster pickguards in my lifetime, in all shapes and forms, but I've always used all Duncan's or all Fender, Etc. so it's just nothing that I've ever ran into before???
I'm not 100% about this but I seem to remember reading something about on here about having to switch the hot & ground leads when you mix pup's from the two companies or you'll end up with a phase issue in position 2 on the switch?
Perhaps this only pertains to humbuckers, or I'm just flat out wrong & it could all be complete B.S., but I was hoping someone could answer this for me? Will this S/S/S guard work in it's current state or will I have to switch the leads on the bridge pup before installing it to avoid an "out of phase problem"???

Normally I'd just install it & then deal with it if a problem arose, but unfortunately I don't have my Stratocaster at the moment! I just sent her out for a fret level/crowning/setup the other day & probably won't have it back until the end of next week.
BTW, I do have some White/Parchment colored covers coming in for the Texas Special's on Monday. It should end up with a cool 70's Tuxedo look once I drop it in & it should also fit well aesthetically with my Strat's ginormous 70's style headstock too!!!
THANKS!!!!
