I'm thinking about upgrading the speaker in my fender HRdx. I play mainly at home and jam in smaller spaces so I'm looking for something that is prone to break up at lower levels. Looking for good classic rock tone. Any of you guys have experience with different speakers in these babies?

Try a Celestion V-30. The stock HRD speaker starts to break up around 4 on the clean channel. It's a Eminance 125 BTW. I run my V-30 from a ext.cab. I haven't played it at gig volume yet. But it does sound nice at bedroom levels.
