Speaker recommendations?

I just got the 1X12 cab for my epi valve jr head. Previously i was running it through one of the speakers on my old crate solid state.

the new cab gives a great low end presence with mellow mids and rounded highs. The speaker is the Eminence Lady Luck speaker that Eminence makes solely for Epiphone. I guess its for blues or something, but the sound is too smooth for me.

what speaker will give me a nice crunchy rock sound with lots of mids and tight low end? Somehow the crate almost had it nailed but the low end was too loose

Just get a Celestion Vintage 30 and get done with it.

Eminence has some good sounding, affordable speakers.

i was thinking about the governor since its voiced for British rock tone

so if i compare a governor to a vintage 30, how does the frequency response compare?

i was thinking about the governor since its voiced for British rock tone

so if i compare a governor to a vintage 30, how does the frequency response compare?

i own and use both speakers. the governour has slightly less biting highs,
therefore it sounds slightly warmer. imo there is no need for a beam blocker
when you use the gov

awesome input man, thanks. i'll consider the governor. i tried lifting the cab off the ground to reduce the bass, but that made it all highs and mids
