I just searched through the forums for some help on this but i couldn't find much.
so, if I have a 4x12 cabinet, that I want to put 4, 8 ohm, 75 watt speakers in, how can I wire it so that the total ohmage is 16? I just keep thinking that it can either be 2 speakers in series (16 ohms), and the other 2 speakers in series (another 16 ohms) and then parallel the two groups of two together for 8 ohms. the other option i can think of is pretty much, parallel 2, parallel the other 2 then series both groups of 2 for 8 ohms.
i'm trying to make a 5150 style cabinet, but i can't figure out how they wire 4 8ohm speakers for 16 ohms. I only know of 2 kinds of circuits, series and parallel, is there a 3rd or 4th one that is used here?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Allen
