I say don't get it. Music gear is a tool. No point in owning a tool you don't use regularly. If you just want to play one occasionally, find a music store or place that does rentals. If you're spending 3 grand on an amp, it should be something you play regularly!
Would you buy it for 28 bucks?
Buy it and use it
why would you not use it?
You're not making sense
Sure . . . then you could resell it and buy something that you want to play. Why clutter up your house with junk you don't need? Life is too short.
Lol. Not a collector, I take it. Not everybody is wired the same.
maybe this will be a good excuse for a gear purge. if i have a pro reverb, maybe i dont need the hot rod deluxe, or supro, or vox since they are all 35-50w reverb amps

Don't purge you will regret it in a couple of years especially if you have to repurchase a piece of gear. I have not played the boat anchor Quad Reverb in 3 years but there is no way in hell I would ever sell it.
Dude, thats been my only tube amp for the last two years, and I just put a baller speaker in mine a few months ago.
Oh, the mute/stadium switch?
I went so far as to build a passive level control in a metal project box. It is a voltage divider with a potentiometer that goes in the series effects loop and acts as another master volume so I can get some finer control over the thing.
i guess my issue is paying $2800 for an amp that will sit mostly unused
