Spider III

Re: Spider III

Yeah,
I got my eye on these guys. As soon as I get the scratch I'll be looking to pick up either one of these, or some kind of Tech 21.

Re: Spider III

Line 6 announced the Spider III a while ago, but only recently put the specs on their web site.

As far as I can tell, there really isn't much difference between the II and III other than the III has more amp models.

I have the Spider II and only play it clean - so there is nothing in the III that attracts me.

Re: Spider III

Wow that was funny... Try and sound just like your favourite artists!
Seperate yourself from all the posers...
Man their budget for Advertisement creators are getting low...

Re: Spider III

I was actually thinking it looks fairly cool. Jolly gets some awsome tones from his modeling amp, I think it's a spider, but it might be a flextone.

Re: Spider III

Sounds like a bubbly pissy mess. Just like the spider 2 I had.

Thanks Jeff, but it's an AX2/212....they haven't made them in quite a few years.

Re: Spider III

Thats def a spider series...ouch...that was horrid. I was kinda hoping they'd be more improved. Having a bunch of song pre-sets, and super cool famous guy presets is pretty lame...unless you are 12 year old budding guitarist :chairfall

Its still the pod 2.0 engine. Until they upgrade to the vetta based stuff like the Flex-Tone, XT/XTL...they are not going to sound that great.

the 30 watter Spider II has the best tone of the whole lineup...right size speaker and cab/combo dimensions I guess.

Re: Spider III

man this amp seems like it sux balls! all the tones i heard suck and so do the cover songs, thay are played wrong. lol

hey jolly do you mic it or do you direct record? if you direct record from the line out what do you use to connect the amp to the pc? and do you need a software or something ?? thanks ! sorry for the highjack:fingersx:

Re: Spider III

Yea the sound clips are a joke.. sounds even worse than the spider II. Thank the lord i never got sucked into a spider when i first started playing. Guitarport and the POD still rock though.

Re: Spider III

There is a lot of discussion about this amp on the Line 6 user forum, and a few people are having problems with them - specifically a loud pop when it is powered up and a volume control that goes up incrementally instead of smoothly as would be expected. Also notes that it really isn't any different than the Spider II in terms of features. Some disappointed people over there.

I run direct. I don't record into my PC. I run direct into my Roland VS-1880 DAW.
