:laugh2: Just on this clip. I didn't think it was bad by any means, just not nearly as good as the other stuff Craig has posted. I'm curious if some other piece of gear in his chain has changed?

Good lord. Wow, nice and crunchy. Are there any clips of any Splawn that's not so "tight"? So far every one I've heard has been really tight and compressed. I'd like to hear some that are a little more open and less compressed.

hmmmm,, thats an interseting observation JeffB.. I was using Cubase SX and now i'm using Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 3.. wonder if that could be it..

Also my old clips were usig my first quick Rod,, the new clips are using the new one.

That YRO lick was dead on, dude. Really. I think playing through a Splawn makes you THAT much of a better player. I have to get one soon.

Playing through a Splawn makes you better because you can hear EVERY MISTAKE with total clarity and focus. They are unforgiving, but the payoff is definitely worth it.

there's definetly no mush to hide behind, that's for sure =D has definetly made me more mindful of my cleanliness on leads

LMAO,,, sorry man, I went on a drinking binge last night with my bass player and other guitarist who coincidentally owns a 900, he dared me to post that,, Sorry... hee hee. :yell: We actually went and posted stupid stuff on a few forums,, unfortunately under my username.

Ok. Since it was the alcohol, I'll let it go. ;)

What 900 does he own? If it's not a MkIII Master Volume or EL34 loaded SL-X, that's what he needs if he doesn't want a Splawn. :D

Does the QR loosen up any or is it always tight and compressed?

I've found that the higher you put the mids, the tighter it gets...sounds weird, but it's true!!! when you lower the mids the bass comes out all the more and it gets a little looser...

Shreders clips rule.. hes more metal than I am.

I don't know which JCM 900 he has, but it sounds like @ss. I know it has EL34 in it. Hes been using my old Quick Rod at shows, and he just ordered his own which he'll have this week sometime.

tightness, loosness..? Not sure, its definitely a tight amp. I hate loose amps like Boogies and 5150's,, I also think its alot in the right hand. I think in 1st gear its way more open and loose and more compressed as you add gears and gain.
