SPLAWN GUITARS?

Re: SPLAWN GUITARS?

Yeah, Charvel's to me are pretty much my faves.. Thats why I questioned these as I figure they are similar. Everyone is going on about the excessive prices.. Unless, my new contacts are completely wrecking my vision, (I am prolly gonna have to stick with glasses) I thought the prices on the splawns were at about $1200ish. Everyone is making comments about them being another over priced boutique maker like suhr and blah blah. Every Wayne Ive seen has been between $2200 and 3500. Suhrs at least that much, The Splawn guitars are cheaper than US BCrichs.

They're 1650 usd which is like 10000 au

but yeah you're right thats not all bad considering.

I just looked at their page, and I could've sworn that they were over $2000 last time I looked at them, which I admit has been a couple of three years ago.

Re: SPLAWN GUITARS?

no, never tried a Wayne either. Don't get many cool guitars in my neck of the woods unless you purchase them.. I cant afford a Wayne but I bet they are killer. Id be curious about the neck shape on those too.. My charvels are perfect..

I would recommend one for sure! His are a little wider on the High E's so you really have to pull up to get it off the fretboard and the quality is second to none IMO. I found a used one at a Pawn Shop for $1,200 and jumped on it (well, not literally on it ;) )

I'm very interested in these Splawn guitars–looks like they are are averaging $1,600-$1,700ish new on their website...I really did the look and the simplicity of them.

Re: SPLAWN GUITARS?

The prices are reasonable when you look at the cost of a Wayne, Charvel or BC Rich of similar specs- each of those fetches $2,000-$2500.

A Warmoth built parts guitar averages $1200, and that doesn't include assembly and finishing

That's why I grabbed my Wayne for $1,200–can't beat the quality of both materials and craftsmanship for that price! I love Warmoth and Musikraft but the parts definitely do add up.

A Wayne for $1200 is a great deal.

Though I do prefer Warmoth over Musikraft. I built a Musikraft Charvel and it didn't come out too good, I didn't use it.

The Warmoth slapped together and wouldn't go out of tune

I agree about the Wayne

Couldn't believe it when I saw it and played it.

I've had great experiences with Warmoth and Musikraft; however, I would put the neck/fret work as better on my Musikraft than the Warmoth because they roll the edges very well IMO. But I would use either brand without hesitation from my experience.

The rolled edges edges on the Musikraft are nice , I'll be taking a screwdriver and rolling the edges on my warmoth this weekend

Nice Wayne, we need more pics!!!

Ha! Thanks man! Its in Tennessee right now, I will post pics and a demo once I get it back...and cleaned (apparently the previous owner spent all of his dough on the guitar and couldn't afford even a paper towel to wipe it off...)

This is why Ive even questioned. Id like to have a Wayne, but those typically cost over 2 grand for something basic. These aren't cheap, but considering it's a small co building them, Im sure they are quality, the price isn't unreasonable. Im pretty certain, if I drop a decent amount of cash on another guitar, it'll be another Charvel.
