I got a GC 4th of July ad today and I noticed that they now have an exclusive Squier tele. It has two humbuckers, basswood body, rosewood fingerboard and what looks to be a top-loading fixed bridge. The going price is the same as a bullet strat and at that price it is ripe for modding.
I did some digging and found a picture.
Personally, I think I'm going to hold off on getting one until I can find one used but in good condition. If they would have had these out a year ago I'd already own one because it honestly has near every feature I was looking for: solidity, simplicity, and modability. This would be a great axe to get to work on the fundamentals of playing and modding with.
