Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

dude, and it's got the toggle switch up top!! add another volume control(which i could totally pull off) and that thing would be awesome!

Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

I'm glad they didn't cheap out and use Agathis for the body. Drop some SDs into it and I would be set.

Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

Whoo-hoo! Alright!! Cheap rip-offs made by foreign labor!!

WHOO-HOO!! YEAH!!

That's what they said about Honda and Toyota 40 years ago. Now who's ripping off who?

You shouldn't respond to that, and I shouldn't have posted it; it's a derailer.

I also want to note that I like how the bridge bucker is ceramic and the neck bucker is Alnico 5 --- that shows me they didn't just phone it in, they thought about what they were putting in it.

It's also notable that all my responses are skewed because I love Squier. The brand.

Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

Screw it, I am ordering one...

I have a feeling I will be swapping the neck, but that is one cool Tele.

Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

Funny, Squier and Epiphone offer cooler models then Fender and Gibson respectively.

I agree that a black pickguard would look much cooler on this guitar.

I have always said: Squier is doing exactly what everyone busts on G-word and F-word for NOT DOING.

They are creating altogether new models (see '51, Jagmaster HH), making functional upgrades to models, actually making models we want (Check out the Telecaster SH), they are undoubtedly increasing their quality control and build quality, they are adding Duncan pickups to half their models, all while keeping the price somewhere between a tank of gas for the truck and 2 trips to the grocery store.

Re: Squier J5 Telecaster

Frankly, It looks better than either of the Fender J5 models.

Seriously, WTF is with the headstock on the standard J5?
