Hi, I bought a Squier Jaguar months ago and I like it a lot!
I already modded it a little (staytrem bridge, etc) and as next step I'd like to change pickups.
The stock ones sound good, but not great, and I'd like to change them with something similiar...
I'm not much into accurate vintage jag pickup because they are too thin for my taste, but I also like to get more vintage-y sound sometimes (I use the strangle switch a lot for this porpouse).
I measured the resistance of both bridge and neck pickup: they read respectively 11,45k and 6k and their outputs are perfect to me.
What would be the closest choice to the stock duncan designed pickups?
For the bridge: is the Hot for Jaguar similar in sound? In video demos it seems to sound a lil thinner and mid scooped than stock, but demos are not always accurate... and how does it works with strangle? It helps to get a ""weaker""-vintage sound?
For the neck one I was wondering about the Antiquity model, any thoughts?
Dunno, tell me what you think would achieve a similar tone with a clearer and fuller sound!
Thank you
(p.s. please, don't reply with "if you like the stocks just keep them!", liking something doesn't mean it's perfect to me-
p.p.s. sorry for any mistakes, I'm a tired, but hope you'll understand anyway
p.p.p.s.(again) Oh, if you are interested in the way I use this guitar and its sounds I can pm you my band's page on fb, it has videos of some of our songs... dunno, maybe it can help you?)
