Srv's hamiltone pickups

I know his hamiltone had lace sensors or something in it when he got it but he changed them around 85' or so. Just wondering if anyone knows what they put in that guitar at the time? Did they make texas specials back then?

i dont think there was lace sensors in the early 80's, i think it originally came with kent armstrong pups

That guitar is really sweet! I love Stats and I really want a neck-through Strat like that. Don't care much for active pickups though.

They were originally EMGs and (at least at 1st) he liked it because as time went on the tone got fuzzier because the batteries who do that to the pickups as they would wear out (or that is at least what he thought).
