SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

Been listening to a lot of George Lynch lately. So I decided to change pickups in my parts-caster.
I picked up a screamin demon on ebay, and I want to match it with a SSL pickup for the neck position.
It will be a simple set up (1 Vol and 3-way strat switch). I like it loud and chirpy.
Any recommendations for a partner to the Screamin Demon?
Thanks!
Mike

Re: SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

If you want traditional single-coil, go with the SSL-2, the flat pole version of the SSL-1. If you want noiseless, the STK-S4 is a great option.

agree with ErikH
additionally - fat magnethic pole - Quarter Pound Flat SSL-4 - LIKE IT

Re: SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I am going to try the SSL-4.
Do you think it will have a good balance with the Screamin Demon?
Thanks,
Mike

here how it is looking on my guitar - SSL -4 with SH2 and TB4 :) together really pretty :)
I have taken this SSL4 out and I will put it on my new bought but used guitar. Invite you to look at my facebook funpage to see what I will do.

Also to explain you -
Scream has - 5 (bass) / 4 (mids) / 9 (treble), resistance of 10K
SSL-4QP has- 5 (bass) / 4 (mids) / 6 (treble), resistance of 13K <- so it is more balanced with less treble.

only one thing you need to understand - THIS IS TRUE SINGLE COIL with big magnets - it will hum

Re: SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

I've got a pair of SSL52's with mine in a Strat. It has a RWRP middle that combines using autosplit wiring to one of the Demon coils, to give hum cancelling in position 2. It works really well.

Either the 1/4 Pound or the 52 will give you a big sound to go with the Demon. You'll have to work with the height to get a really good balance.

Re: SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

Thanks..
I'm going with the quarter pounder!
Thanks for all the suggestions!

Re: SSL recommendation for Screamin Demon

Actually, the "Quarter Pounder" is sold by Mac Donalds. To get a pup from Duncan to match your needs you'll have to get the "Quarter Pound".
