Hallo, thanks to adding me.I would have a question.I have SX strat SSS, SD Hot Rails (bridge), no name(middle) and SSL1 (neck). Can anybody help me with wiring diagram and what kind of pops for volume and tone controls for metal music?250 0r 500? I dont want vintage sound.thanks

welcome to the forum!

the ssl1 is going to sound like a vintage single coil, thats kinda what it does. the hot rails is good for metal though. if you want a brighter sound, use a 500k volume with 250k tone controls, and dont connect the hot rails to a tone control, as on a vintage type strat.

this is the basic diagram though there are other options

Great advice! Yeah, the Hot Rails is going to be the key for metal. Vintage single coils would need a pedal like the Pickup Booster or an overdrive to get into metal-land. With a lot of gain, though, the single coil noise might be too much for you.

Im very grateful for your answers! So 500k then.I like clean tone from ssl1 too.I have MXR Micro Amp pedal to get higher output.And...what about capacitor if I use 500k pots?

500k pot only for the volume control, 250k for the tone pots connected to the single coils. i like a .022 cap for tone controls in general, but its personal preference as much as anything
