Star wiring question

So my girlfriend surprised me with a get well soon Gift...a mim black tele body. I was beyond ecstatic since I sold off almost everything I had to help cover expenses with my hip surgery. So, I'm thinking about star grounding. I've never done this before but there's a metal piece in the cavity of my guitar body so I thought why not. My question is this do I just wire the hot to the pot lug and the ground goes to the star instead of back of pot?

You can wire the pot's ground lug to the star, but you still need a ground on the back of the pot to another grounded point (other pot casing), and all grounds must form a loop. The jack to the pots to the bridge. Star mounts simply make it easier to establish the ground hub, so you can switch one pot out without excess heating of the remaining pot.

The two pots will
Have a ground ran to each other plus a ground from pot to bridge. Will that be enough?

Wishes. Being laid up sucks. I went ahead and just soldered to the back of the pot as usual. The tele has the spray shielding in it but idk if it's necessary to truly wire all the compartment grounds to one spot in the control cavity. Seems overkill

if all compartments are not connected electronically to each other.. having it shielded it the first place is pointless..

So should I simply run a wire from the neck cavity to the ground in the control
Cavity, then one from the bRidge cavity to control
Ground, then I guess one from the control cavity to The back of A pot
To complete the circuit?

One thought that comes to mind is that you don't necessarily need a separate ground lug for each wire and you can go with thinner stranded wire. You can just twist the wires together and then crimp on a grounding lug. That would reduce the number of ground wires you have and the number of ground lugs. For instance in my diagram you can connect the two pickup cavities by twisting and crimping the two wires which would allow you to get rid of four ground lugs and one ground wire. Lastly you can tie in the cavities, pot ground and bridge ground together with one ground lug.

or he can just take some solid core wire.. strip it and solder it from compartment to compartment.. this way doesnt even use the star.. i believe i did it this way.. we atleast partially ion my strat.. i know my dinky it was individual wires to the star

doesnt really matter as long as all compartments are connected electronically.. if you take a dmm.. set for continuity.. best way to check that you job was a sucess

Thanks guys. This chick will do that. U have the grounds from pickups to back of pot so I'll run compartments to the lug is the control cavity
