Steve Morse

Re: Steve Morse

yeah.....i found that out shortly after when i was looking at his old sig musicman on the site

Re: Steve Morse

i really like his eclectic sounds......are there any cds out there that he has that have some of that eclectic clean chording and phrasing......rather than being heavy?

Re: Steve Morse

Yeah, I saw some pics of him using the prototype a few months ago. Pretty cool, though I still like his original one with the pickgaurd and 4 pickups better.

Re: Steve Morse

I like Steve when he's more on the rock side. He's good at everything, but I like it when he really lays into the guitar......moreso than the more mellow High Tension Wires.

That guitar looks cooler than his blue one. I really like the idea of wood mounted pickups with the surrounding clear pickguard, which doesn't cover up the nice flametop.
I'd love to pick one of those up in the store and play it, if I ever saw one.

Re: Steve Morse

i *love* high tension wires...compositionally the most dense thing he has done. For the versatile stuff, I recommend dixie dregs 'night of the living dregs'
for heavier stuff..the steve morse band 'stressfest', and deep purple's 'purpendicular'

Re: Steve Morse

Morse is by far my favorite guitarist...he's so incredibly versatile and so talented at his instrument....I LOVE the Dixie Dreggs days......if you can't tell I'm a fan, just take a look at my avatar :)

Re: Steve Morse

I saw him live with Deep Purple, and when I walked into the huge outside venue, I heard the guitar sounds and was like "who in the heck is that?!?!" His sounds were filling the entire place, and overshadowing the entire band with greatness. I watched in awe as he proceeded to just slay his guitar. I don't have one album with him on it (that's gonna change), but he totally blew me away live. I've never heard anyone shine in such a large venue. Usually everything just blends together. I could barely see him from the distance my seat was, but it didn't matter one bit!

dang, that clip of him playing owns!

Re: Steve Morse

I have almost front row seats to Deep Purple tonight in Toronto...... 4 Bands and being up close like that for $50 a seat i could not refuse..... I saw Purple last year in TO with Satch and it was a good show... (the summer show i saw, i missed the winter show at Massey Hall)

Get to see Steve rock the place! there is some good tunes on Bananas. I won a copy last year on a tour bus to the DP show.

This year DP has April Wine and Mountan opening up for them.... Oddly i have never seen either of them before.... I had lots of chances to see April Wine before but never made the shows.

Re: Steve Morse

Check out the video about his no. 1. I loved the part where he tells about putting his guitar to the grinder!
