STR-1 + P-rails combination on my telecaster

hello guys,

I got a question about my guitar wiring
I am going to change my bridge pickup on my tele which is a black JB

I think I am going to install P-rails because I have JB humbucker already on my strat

because, P-rails consists of p90 and quite small single coil, I think I want to have a humbucker on the bridge and with push pull pot, I want to have the p90 alone when I pull the pot. other electronic-wise, just 3 way switch, 1 vol and 1 tone.

basically it just a telecaster with humbucker on the bridge(with p90 alone when I pull the pot), and true single coil tele on the neck.
no parallel swith, no series switch, I just want to have p90 on my arsenal :headbang:

I have searched the diagram support, but I still havent the P-rails case. because in other split humbucker, if you split the humbucker, you have 1 single coil on from 2 single coils, so it doesnt really a problem. but for P-rails, it is a p90 and a single coil if I dont know which one I am going to split, I wont get the p90 pups on,haha

anyways, I really appriciate your help
thanks guys ! :yes11:

So . . . you want the full P-Rails when the push-pull pot is down, and split to the P-90 when the push-pull is up?

yeah, true :D
I dont know how to split the p-rails and get the p90 on, hehe :D

my wiring is single coil on neck and this p-rails on bridge

Re: STR-1 + P-rails combination on my telecaster

Is the humbucker on this Tele-style guitar mounted through the pickguard, through a rectangular pickup surround or through the metal of the bridge assembly?

The answer to this question will determine several matters.

through the metal of the bridge, why this is matters ? haha

Re: STR-1 + P-rails combination on my telecaster

P-Rails might not fit through the hole in some bridges.

i use this kind of bridge, will it fit ?

Assuming that you get it to fit, use this wiring diagram (the P-Rails will have the same wiring code). This will give you full humbucker with the p/p down, and split to P-90 with the p/p up.

oh the p90 is on when the pot is up ? thanks dude :D
