Hi everyone,

First time posting here.

I own a Fender Telecaster custom mexican guitar. This guitar is pretty thin as i'm sure some of you will know.

I'm currently looking at the above pick ups, SeymourDuncan Str-3 Stl-3 quarter pound pick ups. This is mainly because I want a thicker sound from it and for it to cut through more, I a singer/guitarist in a pop/rock band.

Would these pick ups be appropriate for the sound i'm looking for.

I want it to be worthwhile changing pick ups, because don't get me wrong the fender pick ups are good just thin.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Steph

The Quarter Pounds should be beefier than the stock ones.

But for thicker sounds, you might also consider the single coil sized humbuckers, like the Lil' 59. I've had that in my Tele, and it's thicker than single coils, but it's just a different sound overall. It depends if you want to stick with single coils or not.

Hi mate, thanks for your reply. I would prefere to stick to single coil. So you think they would be fine for me yea?

Cheers

The STL-2 and STR-2 Hot Tele set should thicken up the sound, too. Look at the tone chart and listen to the clips to compare them to the QP set. Both are overwound, so they are louder but also hum a bit more than vintage-style pickups, if that matters to you.
Good luck with it!
